Happiieee See-aNd-whY!

Happyyyyyyy Chinese New Year! a really belated one tho, yes I know. But yeah, I intended for this post to be after the full fifteen days of CNY. Anyways, GONG XI GONG XI. So yeah, heres my see-and-why post. Why see-and-why? Easy, cause, it requires you to see my post and know why! lame, I know. okok. enough crapping. I'm just rather hyper now after whole day of class. So let me walk you through my boring CNY.

Cho 1.
Meet the whole "Hwa" clan.
First up, gramps with the kids.

Filial sons.
Notice the similarity in their faces!

Dad and Granddad.

Oh and, please meet my cute teddy bear, Sue Mae.

The whole family.

and the happy-go-lucky mummy.

To make CNY all the more better, the food! omgee, I swear a gained atleast a pound or two from CNY itself.

The famous yummy homemade lohbak!
yummms.

Check this out!
My cute grandma brought me to her garden, ecstatic to show me this plant. Its flowers look exactly like little birdies. Cool huh?

Cho 9.
Gambleee! Believe me when I say, Im not one who loves gambling. I see it more as an activity to share with family and friends. So yeah, what does Kamparian do when its CNY? Yes, we gamble. We played everything from mahjong to blackjack to poker. And I just have to boast about this, I actually got triple 7 in Blackjack! weee.

Cho 15, Chap Goh Mei.
Last day of CNY, also known as the chinese vdae. So my friends and I decided to go down to Ipoh for a treat. We went to this steamboat/bbq buffet restaurant. Believe me, the food here, deeeeeee-liciouss.

Nope, not ang pau. This is actually the wrapper for the wet tissue. Creative huh?

Look at that big fat piece of lard. Yumms.

BBQ

Steamboat.

Ashleey and me, caught eating.

Justin Bieber aka JoYi

Failed camwhore pic.

Guess what are these for?

Yeah, you've guessed it right. The tossing of mandarin oranges, a chinese tradition that had been passed down from generations to generations. This is actually my first time experiencing and witnessing how this tradition work. So yeah, we went over to a beautiful temple in Ipoh, and my oh my, did it surprised me with the amount of people there!

I was half amazed and amused with the amount of people who are so engrossed in finding the right mandarin orange in the men-made pond. Super a lot of despo people, no?

Anyways, that pretty much sums up my 15 days of CNY.
Gong Xi Fa Chai and I wish you and your family a happy prosperous, fat and fatt rabbit year.
May you hop to higher heights in your studies, work, business and love.
HUATT ARR!

Love is in the air at Holiday Villa Subang.

Its St. Valentine's day again! White Valentines to be exact. Ah well, for me, I think vdae is actually overrated. Sorry to say, but yeah. No no, I'm not some sad, sappy, unromantic girl who hates vdae, in fact I'll be in ultimate joy if  the person I like treat me to a great, romantic date; regardless the same old, cheesy, lame, candle light dinner or buy me some superbly huge teddy bear. But what I'm trying to say is, vdae shouldn't be just "A" day. If you love someone, everyday should be a celebration of love. For all I know, vdae could have been the Sept 14th or even my birthday, March 28th! *hinthint*

But anyhows, vdae is still vdae. So a romantic dinner and gifts are still a definite must! Don't go around telling your other half, "My friend, Melanie says Valentines is just another Hallmark holiday and shouldn't be celebrated," Nope. I've never said that. Guys, you should definitely try your best to make that particular day as special as possible so that it will be one of your dearly cherished shared memories.

And you're in luck this year! Holiday Villa Subang is actually having a few Valentines day packages for you to make your Valentines all the more grand! I got a chance to try out the great food there, which I am about to share later, and believe me, your girlfriend would surely love it.

Well, we had a simple four-course meal to satisfy both our tastebuds and tummy last Tuesday. The food was definitely above satisfactory and it is really kind to your wallets too! What we had for that day, started off with a simple appetizer.

Appetizer, Grilled Unagi Onigiri with Scallop and Fish paste coated with Alamon Flake served with Yuzu Orange Wasabe Mayo.
This is a simple chinese dish served by The Inn of Four Seasons. The grilled unagi onigiri is alil' like an unagi sushi with a slice of lotus roots at the bottom. A delicious start off coated with my favourite sauce, mayo.

Soup, Double Boiled Chinese style Chicken Broth served with Kumomoto Oyster and Lychee Jam.
I love the chicken broth, tastes like something your mother would cook at home but the interesting combination of lychee jam with oyster, not exactly my favourite.

Main Course, was a choice between the

Vietnamese style Rack of Lamb and Fillet of Salmon seared until perfection served with Chef Speciality Salsa.
I wanted to order this but beef came instead. So unfortunately, I did not get to try this out. Anyways, picture is as below. yummy kan?

or

Beef Medaglione al Forno topped with Mushroom Ragout reduction of Berries Balsamice and Raisin Bordelaise sauce.
The tender beefy meat served with the sweet taste of berries is definitely something I would order again.

and to add a sweet touch to a perfect dinner, the dessert.

Chocolate Cheese Mousse and Strawberry dipped served with Caramelized Granny Smith Apple.
First thing I noticed about this cake is that it is Heart shaped! I love the cheesey mouse in the middle of the soft textured cake.

and heres the master behind these exquisite food.

Palm Terrace Coffee House is actually having a Semi-Buffet dinner, Cibo Restaurante Italiano, a 5 course set dinner for Italian cuisine lovers, The Inn of Four Seasons with a 6 course chinese fusion set menu or a little Valentine Eve celebration at Little Cuba where you can lavish your girlfriend in romance on both the 13&14 of February, from only RM98++ to RM180++ per person. Pamper your girlfriend and dine in candlelight with romance and endless love. Or you can have a pre Valentines Nite at La Vida lounge where you can have a door gift and a stalk of rose for each enterance at only RM35 per person.

To make things much more interesting for the couples, you can add on RM200 per couple to join the Valentines day's Love Poison where you can upgrade to Prima lounge with a free evening cocktail, breakfast and first drink at La Vida Lounge and stand a chance to win a diamond ring for your girlfriend too! So have a great Valentines to couples out there and as for singles like me, have a great time out with your single friends!

a Sinful Sunday at Tom, Dick and Harry's.

I've always love Sundays. And there was absolutely no reason for me not to love last Sunday. I got a phone call from Rebecca on Saturday telling me that Tom, Dick and Harry's down at TTDI is having a breakfast review the next day. So I figured, free food, why not? But, free food was definitely not the only reason, I know TDH's food is to die for. I've had my birthday celebration there last year and the food was exquisite! I was actually surprised that they have a breakfast menu, seeing how they label themselves as a pub/ restaurant.

Food here are incredibly reasonable, seeing the big portion that they serve. Everything in this blog is roughly RM16-RM25 only except for the famous Pork Knuckle though. And breakfast is served till 2pm! Ideal for people like me. So anyways, be prepared to tahan saliva kayysss? You have been warned! The following pictures below are superbly dangerously deliciously attractive.

First up, The Big Breakfast.

I love the taste of sweet maple syrup with soft fluffy pancakes coupled with my all time favourite, bananas!

Five, Savory Pancakes.
This spells ohhh-maaiii-gaawwwdddddd awesomely deeeeeeeliciiousss!
When you have the savory taste of bacon covered with melted cheese and the staple sunny side up, teamed up with soft pancakes, you know you're in Heaven.

img_8730

Six, Steak and Eggs Breakie.
When you have steak for breakfast, you know TDH is serious about their breakfast menu!
The taste of the steak, ouhhhh~ Juicy and tender, perfectly done, served with sunny side up, golden hash browns, saute mushrooms and fresh grilled tomatoes, with beefy brown gravy on the side.

Please welcome the oh-so-famous/delicious/juicy/ohhhhhhh Pork Knuckles.
*foodorgasm*
How can you say no to this?
Tender pork with my favourite, mash potato and veggies all covered in gravy!

img_8799

Did I tell you that the people at TDH is superbly niceee (or probably up to no good and secretly wishes to make us grow fat enough to be served on their tables) when they continued to serve us food we cannot say no to!

Say hello to Fried Snickers & Mars bars.
Sinfully delicious. Crispy on the outside, but once you bite it, the melted chocolate, warm and overflowing your tastebuds, with bits and pieces of peanuts. What more can you ask for?

img_88202

Fried Chicken Skin.
This is actually my first time trying it out. I've heard from my friends that its really good and they did not disappoint me!

img_8826

The cheeky Pork Fries!
hahaha. Its actually pork luncheon meat shaped into looking like fries. Such imposter! I know!

img_8830

And again, peeps, I tell you, the peeps at TDH is so nice, we had Hoegaarden and Savannah Cider or whatever we want for breakfast! nahh. I din't have any though. I was recovering from being sick. Bummer. They even brought the Graveyard out for a Judgement call which Aly formerly from Red FM helped me with.

img_8840

I had myself a great relaxing Sunday morning all thanks to TDH. Definitely best breakfast ever. Not only was the food good, company was all the more better. A place to bring your family and friends to simply chill, bond and relax.

Here's a picture of the happy eaters.
